The Focus for this Seasonal Reach-In/Teach-in:
We will be highlighting how "Pat Is Back" teach-in members are organizing beyond the teach-in. We will be featuring Dominique H, a regular Pat Is Back attendee, who will share about her art and work with creating an ESL Book Salon and vocabulary list for To Face It, a novel by Lupe Family which features the character Pam. Pam is a Black radical therapist in the story based on the real life Pat Robinson who this teach-in is dedicated to. Dominique will also be telling her story about attending the Harlem based documentary center, Maysles Cinema. They showed Lupe's film, Pat! A Revolutionary Black Molecule, in 2024. At our teach-in, Dominique's visit will be told using Playback Theater technique, Conducted by Lorraine LaPrade and Acted by Lupe Family.
Another regular teach-in member, Semelle Ramsey, will share her thoughts about coming to Pat Is Back. The Production Team from Pat Is Back has requested people start their own study groups. We will hear from a Vermont Lessons From the Damned (Edited by Pat Robinson) Study group. It uses meditation to learn and take in quotes from Lessons From the Damned.
As usual we invite you to our regular practices of breathing, meditation, doodling and to vision how you might support our Pat Is Back Teach In by Reaching in and organizing with your own old and new friends...
PS. You can get started with joining our ongoing multiracial monthly Book Salon. It's a conference call (NOT ZOOM) focusing on history,etc from the Novel To Face It, by Lupe Family! We will leave time at the end of the teach-in for you to join.
